Best 4G Smartphones in India Below Rs 10,000 – June 2017

With the fierce competition in the smartphone market, the manufacturers are offering best possible hardware for their respective price segments. The high-end features like dual-lens camera and 4GB of RAM are now available at sub Rs. 10,000 price range. The consumers can purchase a new smartphone at Rs. 7,000 or Rs. 8,000 without compromising over the performance or the latest specifications. Most of these smartphones even come with a fingerprint sensor to enhance the security. Below is the list of latest smartphones priced under Rs. 10,000 in India. These devices can be purchased depending on your preferences and budget or add to your wishlist for comparing with your own choices.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 – Rs. 6,999

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 4 as the successor to the last year’s best-selling entry-level smartphones, Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime. The new Redmi 4 comes with a complete metal body and runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based MIUI 8. It comes in three different storage variants – 2GB + 16GB, 3GB + 32GB, and 4GB + 64GB and pricing starts from just Rs. 6,999. While these Redmi devices offer the best value for money, the availability is the biggest issue. It sports a 5-inch HD display with a 2.5D glass laid on top. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz. All three variants come with a fingerprint sensor placed on the rear. As far as the cameras are concerned, the Redmi 4 features a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. Even with the 5-inch form factor, the device includes a 4,100mAh battery that is rated to give 36 hours of talk time and lasts up to 18 days in standby mode. It measures 139.24 x 69.96 x 8.65 mm and weighs 150 grams. The device is now available in Gold and Black color options.

Nubia N1 Lite – Rs. 6,999

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Nubia lacks the same brand recognition as the Xiaomi or Honor smartphones. Though the company had launched quite a few smartphones with every aggressive pricing, they never gave tough competition to the other Chinese brands. A few weeks back, the company launched the Nubia N1 Lite smartphone with the entry-level specification. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 6,999 and is exclusively sold through Amazon India. Compared to the other smartphone at the similar bracket, the Nubia N1 Lite comes with a bigger 5.5-inch display with the same HD resolution. It packs MediaTek MTK6737 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. There is an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery that should give a day-long battery life. Connectivity options on the Nubia N1 Lite include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and MicroUSB 2.0 port. On the rear of the polycarbonate body, we can find the circular fingerprint sensor that is said to unlock the device in just 0.3 seconds.

Lava A77 – Rs. 6,099

The budget-centric Lava A77 comes with minimal specifications and is priced at Rs. 6,099. It packs a smaller 4.5-inch TN display with WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is an unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz that comes coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There is also a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion up to another 32GB. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and included pre-installed bloatware apps. In the camera department, the Lava A77 packs a 5MP camera on the rear and another 5MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. Both the cameras come accompanied with LED flash. The device offers 4G VoLTE support and includes all the other basic connectivity options. It is powered by a 2,000mAh removable battery that might not last more than a day of moderate usage. Beneath the display are the three capacitive buttons for multitasking, home, and back (left to right). The volume rocker and power button are placed on the right edge of the device.

Samsung Z4 – Rs. 5,790

Samsung launched its latest Tizen powered smartphone called Samsung Z4 as the successor to the last year’s Samsung Z2. Unlike the above mentioned devices, the Samsung Z4 runs on the in-house Tizen 3.0 OS. Though the Tizen app store is very small in size when compared to Google’s Play Store, you get all the basic apps including Jio suite of apps.It is dual SIM device and offers 4G VoLTE support for using with the Jio 4G SIM. It comes with a 4.5-inch WVGA display and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor. The device includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable storage. There is a 5MP sensor on the front and back of the device with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. It is kept powered on by a 2,050mAh removable battery. The Samsung Z4 measures 132.9 x 69.2 x 10.3 mm and weighs 143 grams. Connectivity options on this device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, 3.5mm Audio port, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. The removable back panel comes with a textured finish that gives a nice grip to hold on to the device. There is a physical home button on the front with two capacitive navigation buttons on either side of it.

Asus Zenfone Live – Rs. 9,999

Asus Zenfone Live is the latest selfie-centric smartphone to launch in India. Unlike the other smartphones, the Zenfone Live is more focused on the Live video streaming than capturing photos. It features built-in beauty mode along with dual microphones to make the live streaming look better than other devices. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 9,999 and includes a couple of years old Snapdragon 400 SoC. Apart from the outdated processor, the device sports decent entry-level specifications and is sold across India via offline retail stores. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution display. While the earlier launched Zenfone 3S Max came with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, the new Zenfone Live still runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It includes 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded additionally up to 128GB via MicroSD card. On the camera front, there is a 13MP rear camera and 5MP selfie camera. Both the cameras come accompanied with LED flash. It is backed by a 2,650mAh battery and supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM slot.

Meizu M5 – Rs. 6,990

Meizu M5 is yet another Amazon exclusive smartphone launched in India. It comes in 2GB and 3GB RAM variants with 16GB and 32GB storage options. The device sports a plastic built unibody design and runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Flyme OS. On the front is a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display which has a 2.5D curved glass laid on top. Under the hood is the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. There is also a MicroSD card slot for expanding the storage additionally up to another 128GB. The mBack home button also comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. Talking about the cameras, the M5 sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, and dual tone LED flash. For selfies, there is an additional 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture for capturing better selfies. It includes a 3,070mAh non-removable battery that is rated to give up to 37 hours of talk time and 66 hours of music playback. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It measures 147.2 x 72.8 x 8 mm and weighs 138 grams.
