ASUS Zenfone 6 to Feature 3.5mm Audio Jack & New Smart Key

ASUS has posted a new photo on Twitter revealing new details about its upcoming flagship smartphone. The company will be officially unveiling the Zenfone 6 series on May 16th in Valencia, Spain. Talking about the features, the device is confirmed to feature the 3.5mm audio jack which is missing from several flagship smartphones. It will also come with a triple card slot for adding two nano SIM cards and one MicroSD card, all at the same time.
The company also confirmed to include the notification LED light which many other manufacturers have omitted from their flagship devices. It’s good to see ASUS keep all these things intact. Also, the company is now adding an additional hardware button called Smart Key. It is actually a switch which might work just like the Alert Slider on OnePlus smartphones. It is placed on the right edge along with the power button and volume rocker.
As expected the device, the comes powered by the flagship Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform from Qualcomm. It is built on a 7nm FinFET node and comes coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. The Kryo 485 CPU features 1x prime core clocked at 2.84GHz, 3x performance cores clocked at 2.42GHz, and 4x efficiency core clocked at 1.80GHz. Last year’s Zenfone 5Z is the most affordable Snapdragon 845-powered smartphones during its launch in India.
Now in 2019, we also expect the device Zenfone 6 smartphones to come with an aggressive price tag. Based on the earlier leaks, the device will be coming with a notch-less display with Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution. On the rear, it sports dual camera setup featuring 48MP primary sensor and a 13MP secondary sensor. Also, the device will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery which is the biggest among all the 2019 flagship smartphones.
The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie based Zen UI out of the box. While we expect to see an in-display fingerprint scanner on this device, the company might opt for the rear-facing fingerprint scanner. It might come with a glass sandwich design with a metal mid-frame. Look at the current trend, ASUS might also launch Zenfone 6 smartphones in the gradient color options.
