Asus Zenfone 3 Max Launched in India with 4100 mAh Battery, 2 variants

After launching the Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Laser in India, Asus has now announced two variants of the Zenfone 3 Max as the successor to last years Zenfone Max. Compared to Zenfone Max that came in several variants, this new device comes with many upgrades. Firstly, the device sports an all metal body while its predecessor came with a polycarbonate body. The Zenfone 3 Max also features fingerprint sensor placed on the back of the device. Both the devices will be supporting dual SIM dual standby and offer 4G VoLTE which makes the devices supporting Jio 4G SIM.

The Zenfone 3 Max smartphone with the model number ZC520TL sports a slightly less powerful specifications and smaller display when compared to the other variant with the model number ZC550TL. Both the variants will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based in-house ZenUI 3.0 and come pre-installed with several bloatware apps. The devices will be available in Gold, Silver, and Grey color options.

This particular variant sports a 5.2-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. It comes powered by MediaTek MT6737M quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz and coupled with Mali T720 GPU. There will be 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via provided MicroSD card slot. In the camera department, the Zenfone 3 Max includes a 13MP rear camera with 5P lens and LED flash and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. Connectivity options include 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.

The device is backed by a 4,130mAh non-removable battery that is rated to give 20 hours of talk time and lasts
upto 720 hours on standby. With the such a large battery, the device supports fast charging with the provided 5V/2A power adapter. It can be used as a powerbank for charging other smartphones with the included USB OTG cable. The 5.2-inch Zenfone 3 Max measures 149.5 x 73.7 x 8.55 and weighs 160 grams.

As said earlier, the ZC553KL variant come with a larger 5.7-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It comes protected by a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 laid on top. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and coupled with Adreno 505. This is the same processor that also powered Redmi 3S which is now retailing at Rs. 6,999. There will be 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage on this device. Though it has the same 4,100mAh battery as on 5.2-inch Zenfone 3 Max, Asus is offering better camera sensors on this device.

It sports a 16MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual tone LED flash and TriTech autofocus system. The TriTech autofocus system includes laser autofocus, PDAF, and continuous autofocus. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and 84-degree wide angle lens. The connectivity options and design remain same on the earlier mentioned variant. It measures 151.4 x 76.24 x 8.3 mm and weighs 175 grams.
