Asus announced their first premium Window 10 mean-machine with 2K Display in India. The Zenbook UX305LA is company’s answer to Apple, Dell, and other brands having high-end laptops in the country. The new Ultrabook would be available with three different Intel chipsets; Core M, Core i5 and Core i7.
The Zenbook UX305LA is priced onwards Rs 97,990, and would be available to purchase from Asus Exclusive Store as well as online retailers. Note that it is not Flipkart exclusive product, unlike company’s Zenfone Smartphone series.
The premium machine from Taiwanese manufacturer packs heavy-duty specifications. It houses 8GB of RAM and 512GB of Solid-state drive for fast performance. Sporting a crisp, vibrant 13.3-inch display, the Window 10 enabled Zenbook would have a display resolution of 3200 x 1800, which is even more than a 2K display.
Though, the company states that their initial plan includes selling Intel i7 based laptops, which will be further expanded with Intel i5 processor. These are the fifth generation Intel chipsets that are created to outperform any other processors in the market right now. It does look like the UX305LA has taken its design cue from the Macbook Air, as there are quite the similarities here.
With the festive season coming up in India, the company is gearing up to offer most affordable ultraportable laptops in the market. Peter Chang, Regional Head of South Asia and MD for Asus India quotes that their new ZenBook deserves a top spot on the shopping list of Indian consumers this festive season.
Mr Chang further quotes, “The UX305LA is a perfect balance of great looks and functionality which delivers a powerful performance with the Windows 10 combination. The Indian consumers are increasingly moving towards ultraportable products and the featherweight ZenBook UX305LA is a real performer that redefines this segment with its svelte design.”
More on specifications of the ZenBook UX305LA, it would support HDMI 1.4, LAN 10/100 Mbps, Card reader, 1 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0 that offers faster data transfer rate. There are 1 built-in microphone, audio jack and a micro HDMI port acting as an interface. The audio technology is powered by ICEpower and Sonic Master.
The ZenBook UX305LA weighs only 1 kg without a battery while the 6 cell battery adds extra 300 gm to the weight. To talk about the battery life, company claims that the 6 cell battery is capable of giving up to 10 hours of battery life. If it’s anything close to the claimed time, then UX305LA got a great battery life, which company can be proud of. Now only the time would tell how this premium mean machine performs in sale in the Indian market.
Macbook Air is the current market favorite in the ultraportable laptop market in India. While Dell’s new XPS 13 is heavily priced in the country. The only alternative to consumers ho doesn’t want a Mac OS powered machine is HP’s Envy 14. But with Asus coming up with a premium ZenBook, you do get an option.
