Asus Pegasus 2 Plus with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 615 unveiled

Asus has unveiled a new smartphone in the Chinese market, the Asus Pegasus 2 Plus X550, as the successor to the Pegasus X002 smartphone. With the unveiling, Asus has showcased this device at a Chinese exhibition in Nanjing last week.
This device doesn’t hold any heavy or really basic specs, thus will be keeping itself in the budget-to-mid range category, and the 5.5-inch display on the front has a 1080p resolution. Internally, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (octa core, 64-bit chipset) along with 3GB of RAM. This keeps it quite competitive to the Xiaomi’s Mi 4i, though the given RAM here is higher.
On the camera side, the phone has a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. The software it runs is currently the latest, as the Pegasus 2 Plus has ZenUI layered over Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. On the design side, the device doesn’t come with the latest design from the company as the buttons are not on the back, but are on the side of the device.
There are two SIM card slots, and the phone comes packed with a 3030 mAh battery. Rose Gold and white are the two color variants of the Pegasus 2 Plus. There are no details known about the availability and pricing of the device, and we’ll update this page whenever we find more info on this. Asus has also recently launched a ZenFone 2 variant which had the same Snapdragon 615 chipset powering, but the Pegasus overall looks like a better device than the variant of ZenFone 2.
