Apple’s Chief Design Officer, Jony Ive Departs To Develop His Own Design Firm

The man behind or you can say mostly associated with every iPhone, iPad, and Mac out there — Jony Ive has bid farewell to Apple today. The reason for his departure is to get along to develop his new independent design company called — LoveFrom, which is likely to be launched sometime next year. However, Apple will still be associated with Jony Ive, but as a primary client for future projects. Apple had announced his departure from the company in a statement and had assured to work closely with him for its upcoming wide range of projects that are said to be exclusive as well.

Jony Ive has been the prominent design officer ever since the launch of 1998’s iMac and ever since the inception of the iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad as well. Jony has also been associated with the newly developed Apple Park in Cupertino as well. In the statement from Apple, the company CEO Tim Cook had further stated that Apple would be directly working with Jony for exclusive projects along with the ongoing projects as well. Tim Cook had also mentioned that Jony Ive had created a brilliant and passionate design team, which is currently working on the ongoing projects by Apple. He had further stated the relationship with the Chief Design Officer, Jony Ive has been happy throughout all these years and expects it to be evolved in the future as well.

Right now, Apple isn’t looking for any replacement for its Cheif Design Officer, instead suggests that the current Design team leader Evans Hankey (vice president of Industrial Design) and Alan Dye (vice president of Human Interface Design) will directly report to Jeff Williams — Apple’s Cheif Operations officer. He has also been involved in the development of Apple Watch since its first edition. Meanwhile, Apple is gearing up to launch its trio iPhones’ successors in September this year.
