With the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, Apple introduced the new black and jet black color options. Now, the company launched the special edition Product (RED) iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in gorgeous looking Red color. These new devices mark the 10 years of collaboration between Apple and Red, the largest private sector donor to the Global Fund that fights against the AIDS. The Aluminum body of both the devices come in complete red color whereas the front panel comes in White color. The special edition Product (RED) iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available only in 128GB and 256GB storage variants and the pricing starts from Rs. 82,000 in India.
Commenting on the occasion, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, said,
Since we began working with (RED) 10 years ago, our customers have made a significant impact in fighting the spread of AIDS through the purchase of our products, from the original iPod nano (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition all the way to today’s lineup of Beats products and accessories for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The introduction of this special edition iPhone in a gorgeous red finish is our biggest (PRODUCT)RED offering to date in celebration of our partnership with (RED), and we can’t wait to get it into customers’ hands.
Apart from the new color option, there won’t be any other changes when compared with the jet black, black, silver, gold and rose gold. The red colored iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available starting from March 24th through online and in-store retailers. In India, this new color option will be available in April alongside the new 9.7-inch iPad that replaces the iPad Air 2. While the 4-inch iPhone SE is available only with 16GB and 64GB storage options, Apple now doubled onboard storage to 32GB and 128GB.
The new iPhone SE 32GB and 128GB variants will start retailing in April from Rs. 27,200. Apple also launched the new color options for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus silicone and leather cases. The silicone cases will be available in new azure, camellia, and pebble colors, whereas the leather cases now come in taupe, sapphire, and berry color options. The pricing of these cases starts from Rs. 2,900 and will be available along with the Product (RED) iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
