Apple iPhone SE to Launch in India on April 8th, Priced from Rs 39,000

Apple had officially launched the smaller iPhone SE and the new iPad Pro at an event held at its Headquarters in Cupertino. The design of the device looks similar to the iPhone 5S while it packs some powerful internals. The 16GB variant of iPhone SE is priced at $399 while the 64GB variant comes with a price tag of $499.  In India, the 16GB variant was earlier said to be priced at Rs. 30,000 and in less than 24 hours the company has updated the price as Rs. 39,900.

While the device is already available for pre-orders in the U.S where the sales begin from March 25th. But in India, the device will be available to pre-order starting from March 29th and the sales begins from April 8th. Talking about the device, it comes with almost same internals as iPhone 6S except the 3D Touch. Though the device lacks the 3D Touch, it can capture live photos. It has 2GB of RAM, A9 Processor, and 12MP iSight Camera. It runs on the latest iOS 9.3 which comes with new features like Night Shift, more personalized News app, & locking Notes app.

We had seen a good interest from our readers on the upcoming iPhone SE device but looks like with the lack of 3D Touch, heavy pricing are going to make them push towards the iPhone 5s or the iPhone 6s incase they are interested in the larger display size. It would have been a recommended to check device if they had launched it in India at a price range of Rs 25,000 to Rs 28,000 but with the currently announced price of Rs 39,000 there is no chance anyone would be interested.

There are also a few speculations that the 64GB Variant would be available at Rs 48,000 which is something no one would be interested to buy. The device does feature a powerful processor and a camera but in developing markets like India where we have consumers who are focused more on price over the features it seems that the pricing Apple has announced is something not acceptable.
