Apple iPhone Prices Again Increased in India, Here’s the New Price List

In the Union Budget 2018, the Government of India has increased the customs duty on smartphones from 15% to 20%. This is the second hike after introducing the 10% customs duty on smartphones in July last year. In December 2017, the initial 10% customs duty was increased to 15%. While the increase in customs duty does show any effect on “Made in India” smartphones which are assembled locally, a few manufacturers who mostly import their smartphones might come out with new pricing.

Apart from iPhone SE, Apple imports all its portfolio of devices in India. As seen in December 2017, Apple now increased the prices of all the imported iPhones and Apple Watches by 2% to 3.9%. The price of the new Apple Watch Series 3 with GPS is increased by Rs. 2,480 and Rs. 2,510 for the 38mm and 42mm variants respectively. The price of the four-year old iPhone 6 32GB is increased by a whopping 3.9%, it will be now available for Rs. 31,900 instead of Rs. 30,780.

Coming to the latest iPhone X, the 256GB variant has seen a 3.2% hike, which increases the price from Rs. 1,05,720 to Rs. 1,08,930. The price of the iPhone X 64GB is increased by 3% to Rs. 95,390. There is also a 2% hike on the 64GB and 256GB variants of the iPhone 8 Plus. The price of the 64GB and 256GB variants of the iPhone 8 is increased by the 2.7% and 2% respectively. The 32GB and 128GB variants of the iPhone 7 & iPhones 7 Plus have seen a 2.7% to 3.1% hike in pricing.

Talking about the 2015-launched iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, both these devices will be now retailing for Rs. 42,990 and Rs. 52,240 respectively. The new pricing for the iPhones and Apple Watches will be effective starting today across India. However, there will be additional discounts and cashback offers from the Apple resellers and online retailers on the Apple products.
