Last year, Amazon announced the all-new Echo Show as the successor to the first-gen Echo Show. Today, the company has finally launched the second-gen Echo Show in the Indian market. It joins the other Alexa-powered smart speakers like Echo Dot, Echo, Echo Plus, Echo Spot, and Echo Sub. The new Echo Show is priced at Rs 22,999 and comes bundled with a Philips Hue Bulb. There is also a Rs 2000 cashback offer for the Citi Bank users.
The Echo Show is actually a smart display with a hub functionality. Just like other second-gen Echo devices, the new Echo Show also comes with fabric design. On the front, we will be looking at a 10.1-inch touchscreen HD (1280 x 800 pixels) display. For the better usage of the large display, the users can ask Alexa to make a voice or video call on Skype, show receipes, play movies or music videos.
The Echo Show also offers premium Dolby audio with the Dual 10W speakers along with a dedicated bass radiator. On the top are the three buttons for volume up, volume down, and camera/mic turn on/off. The eight microphones on this deivce along with far-field technology can hear the voice even while playing music. It is also compatible with Zigbee devices without need for a separate smart home hub.
While the Echo Spot came with a VGA camera, the Echo Show offers 5MP high resolution camera. It comes with a
30W power adapter for connecting the Echo Show to the power outlet. Though the device comes with a 10.1-inch display, there is no official support for Netflix or Youtube. However, the users can still access them using the built-in browsers. It is now available in Black and White color options on Amazon India. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
