Amazon has launched a new Echo device with a display called Echo Show 5. Currently, the Echo Show and Echo Spot are the only Echo devices to come with a display. While the Echo Spot and Echo Show are currently retailing for Rs 12,999 and Rs 22,999 respectively, the new Echo Show 5 is priced at just Rs 8,999. It comes in White and Black color options. The Echo Show 5 is already available on Amazon.in for pre-orders and will go on sale starting July 18th. As the name suggests, the Echo Show 5 comes with a 5.5-inch HD display.
There is also an HD camera for making video calls and comes with a built-in shutter to cover the camera sensor. It is also equipped with a single speaker and includes a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting external speakers. Unlike the Echo Show, the Echo Show 5 misses out the Zigbee smart home hub functionality. With this new Echo device, the company is introducing a new feature called “Alexa Sunrise alarm” which will brighten the display slowly before the alarm goes off.
Amazon also announced privacy-based features which will be available for all Alexa-powered devices. From now on, the users can ask to delete the voice history. For example, we can now say “Alexa, delete everything I said today” or “Alexa, delete what I just said.” Earlier to this, the Alexa users have to manually delete their voice commands from the Alexa app. All the Echo devices will also get the new “Alexa Privacy Hub” which can be accessed through the Alexa app or on the web. Here the users can find all information about the settings of their device. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
