Xiaomi has the market leader in the smartphone market, however, it is also growing in other vertical through its subsidiaries and investments in startups. Huami is one of the several Xiaomi’s subsidiaries. Apart from manufacturing Mi Band fitness trackers, it also sells wearables under the brand name of Amazfit. Just like Xiaomi’s Yi products, the Amazfit branded products are also coming to the Indian market.
The company is now teasing to launch the Amazfit Bip & Stratos Smartwatches in India on July 24th in India. On the same day, Xiaomi is also holding the global launch event in Madrid Spain. Both the Amazfit Bip & Stratos were launched a long time ago in China. While Amazfit Stratos smartwatch was launched late last year, the Amazfit Bip has been made available in the US in February this year.
The Amazfit Bip is one of the best budget smartwatches and is currently retailing for $99 in the US. It comes with a 1.28-inch Always-on touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It also got a heart rate sensor, barometer, compass, 3-axis accelerometer, and built-in GPS. It works with Android and iOS devices and comes with Bluetooth 4.0 LE connectivity. It is also IP68 certified, which it is water and dust resistant.
Talking about the Amazfit Stratos, it was launched as Amazfit Pace 2 in China. It is actually the successor to the Amazfit Pace which was limited to China at that time. The Amazfit Stratos is already on sale in the US for $199 and comes with a premium looking design. It is backed by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and includes 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The Stratos is also water-resistant up to 5 ATM.
It comes with a 1.34-inch always-on touchscreen display with 320 x 300 pixels resolution. The smartwatch comes with a ceramic bezel and the user can replace the straps with any other 22mm straps.
