Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL with 5.5″ Display & Windows 10 Launched at $139

After launching a slew of entry-level devices, Alcatel has unveiled a new smartphone called Alcatel OneTouch Fierce XL running on the latest Windows 10 Mobile OS. The device in Blue will be exclusively available via T-Mobile in the U.S for $139, and unlocked variants can be purchased through Microsoft stores. With few better specifications, it can be a good alternative for the Lumia 550 which is also similarly priced.

The device comes with a larger 5.5-inch HD display compared to the 4.7-inch HD display on Lumia 550. Under the hood is the Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz and 2GB of RAM. It can offer seamless multitasking with the 2GB of RAM while many affordable devices are limited to just 1GB of RAM. There is also 16GB of internal storage that can be further expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card slot.

It has an 8MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 2MP front camera for selfies and Skype. The device is backed by a 2,500mAh battery that is rated to deliver 14 hours of talk time and lasts up to 820 hours on standby. For your information, the Lumia 550 came with a 2,100mAh battery. The Windows 10 device comes with pre-installed Cortana, the voice-activated personal assistant.

The Microsoft Office suite of apps like MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are also pre-installed on this device to bring one-the-go creating and editing of documents. The device supports Cat.4 LTE that makes the device to provide 4G LTE in India. Connectivity options on this device include Wi-Fi, VoLTE, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, and MicroUSB along with 4G LTE.

The company also announced a Windows 10 Mobile powered tablet called Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 (8) with an 8-inch display. Though this tablet is powered by the same Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor but comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It has a 5MP rear camera with no LED flash and a 2MP front camera. The tablet is backed by a 4,060mAh battery and also include an SIM card slot with 4G LTE connectivity.
