A couple of months ago China’s largest smartphone brand Huawei announced Lionel Messi as their global brand ambassador. Earlier, he was the brand ambassador for Huawei’s competitor Samsung. While there are no official numbers, Huawei is said to be paying EUR 8 million per year. Now, the latest news suggests ZTE’s sub-brand Nubia; another Chinese smartphone brand might rope in Portuguese football player Cristiano Ronaldo who also plays for Spanish football club, Real Madrid.
The leaked screenshot posted below was found on Chinese social networking site, Weibo which mentions Cristiano Ronaldo as the global brand ambassador for Nubia. The official announcement regarding the same can be expected within the next few weeks. ZTE, which had a good international presence, launched the Nubia.com website at the CES 2016 in Las Vegas for making Nubia smartphones available all over the world. It had also mentioned making the website available in respective local languages.
The online store will be opened starting with European countries and will later expand to other countries. Recently the company launched the Nubia Z11 Mini with a 5-inch display and mid-range specifications. It is also expected to launch the Nubia Z11 and Z11 Max smartphone in the next few weeks. Both these devices were listed on TENAA, where we got the first look of the design and specifications. The Nubia Z11 comes with a 5.5-inch display while the Z11 Max sports a larger 6-inch display.
In the camera department, the device features a 16MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front shooter for capturing selfies. The fingerprint sensor can be found on both Nubia Z11 and Z11 Max. Both the devices come with 4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. The Nubia Z11 is backed by a 2,900mAh battery while the Z11 Max includes a much larger 4,000mAh battery. These devices support dual SIM dual standby and offer 4G LTE with VoLTE.
