ZTE Axon 7 Mini Smartphone with 5.2″ Display & 3GB RAM Launched in UK

ZTE recently launched the Axon 7 Mini smartphone in the U.S as the cut-down variant of the flagship Axon 7, and it quickly became famous for being one of the affordable high-end smartphones available in the market. And now, the company has launched the Axon 7 Mini in UK through Carphone Warehouse. Its SIM-free version is priced at £250 (approx $315 / Rs. 21,500) and is available only in Gold color while the Grey color variant is listed as coming soon. It sports an all metal body with dual front facing speakers as seen on the Axon 7.

The new ZTE Axon 7 Mini comes with a 5.2-inch AMOLED Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display on the front which is a little smaller than the original Axon 7. The front facing speakers come with Dolby Atmos sound, which is powered by a dedicated audio chip. Talking about other hardware parts, it is powered by the Snapdragon 617 processor. It packs 3GB of RAM & 32GB of internal storage as well. Unlike in the U.S, there is no 4GB RAM that comes with 64GB of internal storage. You can also add extra storage via the microSD card slot.

The device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box with the customized MiFavor UI 4.0 laid on top. For the camera, we have a 16-megapixel rear facing shooter with f/1.9 aperture. There is no OIS this time and 4K recording as well. It retains the same 8-megapixel front facing camera from the big Axon 7.  The 2705mAh non-removable battery on this device is rated to give 15 hours of talk time and lasts upto 270 hours on standby. It measures 147.5 x 71 x 7.8 mm and weighs 153 grams. The power button along with volume rocker sits on the right edge of the device while on the left edge is the SIM card slot.

It also sports the fingerprint sensor which can found on the rear of the device. The earlier launched Axon 7 came with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels resolution). Under the hood is the Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It came with 64GB storage along with MicroSD card slot for storage expansion upto 256GB. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G VoLTE connectivity. While Axon 7 Mini came with a 16MP rear camera , the Axon 7 sports a 20MP rear camera with PDAF, OIS, and F/1.8 aperture.

It comes backed by a 3,250mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology using the USB 3.0 Type-C port. Now, the company is also working on making the Project CSX a reality. It comes with eye-tracking technology and features self-adhesive body. The optimized user interface will bring the split-screen technology which is otherwise is a built-in feature in the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update. The company is also crowdsourcing the name and as of now, ZTE Enki is leading the voting and might be the official name of the device if its sit in the top place till December 5th.
