There are several Chinese smartphones available online that are priced under $100, and few of them also sports some excellent specifications at this price range. While UMi is one such brand that has been known internationally for launching smartphone offering some great value for money specifications. The latest device from the company is UMi Rome, which is priced at just $89 (approx Rs. 5,900). Earlier to this, the company had also launched UMi Fair with Fingerprint sensor at $99 (approx Rs.6,500).
The device sports a 5.5-inch display with HD resolution and is powered 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor. This is the same chipset that was used in the recently launched Meizu M2 Note and Micromax Canvas 5 that are priced around $200. It has a whopping 3GB of RAM which no other device had offered till date at this price range. There is also 16GB of internal storage that can be expandable via MicroSD card slot.
UMi Iron Pro priced at $180 is the successor for the earlier launched UMi Iron, interestingly this device comes with same MT6753 processor and 3GB RAM as seen on the UMi Rome. It also comes with a 13MP rear camera with Sony IMX164 sensor with dual tone LED flash and on the front, it comes with a 2MP selfie camera with LED flash.
According to the company the 2,500mAh battery on this device can give a single day of battery life. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with little customizations.From the back, the device looks similar to the Galaxy Note 5 with the curved edges. It feels slim in hand which measures 7.9mm thick. While there is no information regarding the availability of the device, it is already listed on some 3rd party Chinese online stores. Stay tuned for more updates.
