Samsung Galaxy S6 Active

The Galaxy S6 Plus is far from getting any official details, but we are already getting to know about an upcoming device in the US, from the South Korean electronics giant. As it does every year, the company is looking to launch the Active version of its flagship Galaxy S6, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active.

Update: A video from AT&T, and then a page on its website explains what comes packed into the Galaxy S6 Active, and the highlights include IP68 certification, and a 3500 mAh battery, while the color options include Camo White, Camo Blue, or Gray.

The pricing is set at $199 with 2-year contract, and is available for $200 with a 2-year contract, and $695 without any agreement. It is also available for $23.17 per month on AT&T Next 24 plan, $28.96 a month on Next 18, and $34.75 a month on Next 12.

The details, pictures and specs were all revealed when Samsung mistakenly uploaded the data on its U.S. website, and it also shows that the smartphone might be coming with AT&T carrier in the U.S. The specifications are almost the same as they are in the original Galaxy S6, and the design is similar to how it was in the previous devices, like having a bumper case but that adds to the safety against several factors like water, dust, etc.

As far as the details about the Active are concerned, we surely know this is a water- and dustproof device, but if it resists other things like salt, vibration, solar radiation, thermal shock. The specifications are the same as seen in S6, i.e. a 5.1-inch QHD display, Exynos 7420 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB limited storage, a 16-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

The home button in the front bottom isn’t the only physical key on the screen area, because the recents and back keys too are physical ones in the Active series. There is an additional Active key seen on the left side of the device. The two color options expected are Cameo White and Titanium Black, and the device might be coming down to the other markets later, but might be coming to U.S. first through AT&T.

We now just have to wait for the official announcement of the company, given how everything is already known, and that could happen anytime soon.
