Samsung Galaxy A9 with 6″ Full HD Display, 13MP Camera coming at CES 2016
Update: January is just around the corner when Samsung is slated to launch Galaxy A9 handset at CES 2016 Expo. Earlier haven’t had any confirmation of specifications but the recently posted image by Official weibo account of Samsung Electronics East China suggests that new A series handset would be sporting a 6-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display. Other specs that are confirmed include the 4000mAh battery and 13MP rear camera as well as 8MP front facing the camera. Stay Tuned for more updates on this as the CES event date comes near.
Earlier- The CES 2016 will be held from January 6-9 in Las Vegas where we can expect some major announcements from smartphone manufacturers. While the upcoming flagship from the company, Galaxy S7 is also rumored to be launched in the month of February, we cannot expect anything about the device at the CES. The leaked image of the Samsung‘s media invite suggests the press confernece to be held on January 5, 2016 where we get the announcements about the device to launch.
The latest rumors suggest the Galaxy A9, the successor for Galaxy A8 will be launched at CES 2016. Samsung had recently upgraded the Galaxy A series by launching Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy A5 (2016), and Galaxy A7 (2016). A Couple of weeks back, the device was listed on the company’s Iran website, where we can find no major upgrades in the specifications apart from the processor and RAM. Stay tuned for more updates!
Earlier: Nov 27, 2015 – A couple of months back, the Samsung Galaxy A9 was first spotted on Benchmark site and now it is listed on the company’s official website. Samsung Mobile’s Iran website had listed device without any pricing mentioned, but we got the complete specifications of the device. As per the listing, the device will be officially launched on December 1st.
It comes with the model number SM-A900F and will be available in the colors White, Black, and Golden colors. The device supports dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE for better connectivity. It sports metallic frame around the device with a plastic back cover. On the front, there is 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass protection.
As rumors suggested, it is powered by the Snapdragon 620 octa-core processor along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage that can be expandable up to 128GB. Talking about the camera, it has 16MP rear camera with dual LED flash and autofocus, and on the front it has a 5MP selfie camera. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming days.
Earlier: Sep 14, 2015 – A new Samsung device has been listed on a benchmarking site, as per the rumors the device is believed to be Galaxy A9 smartphone. The interesting part is that it comes powered by a latest 64-bit Snapdragon 620 processor. The Galaxy A9 is the successor for the recently launched Galaxy A8.
According to the listing, the smartphone is named as Samsung msm8976fhdlte-eur-open, that is said to be the Galaxy A9. The 64-bit Snapdragon 620 octa-core processor has four Cortex A72 cores clocked at 1.8GHz, and the other four power-efficient Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.4GHz. It is accompanied by Adreno 510 GPU.
There are also rumors that Samsung is already testing the upcoming Snapdragon 820 processor for their next flagship smartphone Galaxy S7. We can expect the Galaxy S7 to come in two variants, one powered by the Snapdragon 820 while the other variant powered by new Exynos M1.
Talking about the specifications of the device, the Galaxy A9 comes powered by the Snapdragon 620 processor coupled with Adreno 510 and 3GB of RAM. The recently launched Galaxy A8 came with Snapdragon 615 and 2GB RAM. As we reviewed the device, it got the same camera sensor that is used in the Samsung’s latest flagship devices and gives better images when compared with other devices at the same price range. The Galaxy A8 is the slimmest ever smartphone manufactured by Samsung measuring at just 5.9mm.
The Galaxy A7 came with Exynos processor and from the Galaxy A8 the company shifted to Snapdragon processor. The Galaxy A8 doesn’t include the fingerprint sensor that was found on the flagship devices, but it has a MicroSD card slot that’s been missing on the flagship devices.
The Galaxy A9 has decent scores of 1325 for single-core and 4461 for multi-core. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Since this too early for the getting the information related to launching date, stay tuned for more details about the device.
