After announcing the Prepaid plans at Annual General Meeting held in Mumbai. RJIL has now revealed the details about the Postpaid plans for the Jio customers. With the primary announcement of starting services from September 5th to everyone in the country. The plans revealed by Jio suggests that company wanted them to be simpler but not complex, which is why the data, voice, Hotspots and SMS benefits are clubbed together.
Previously at the event, Chairman and Managing Director, Mukesh Ambani revealed only Prepaid All-in-one tariffs, which are limited to 10 plans. Category starts from XXS and goes up to XXXL. While talking about the Postpaid plans, there are only seven Postpaid plans listed offering unlimited voice calls and benefits such as Data cap.
There is an eighth plan that has a monthly rental of as low as Rs 31. But do make a note that all Postpaid plans, even the one costing just Rs 31, would require you to deposit Rs 4000 if you are planning to take your JIO Postpaid number to international waters. Note that is the security money and is refundable as per the information listed by company. While only six plans starting from Rs 499 would be getting the discounted ISD tariffs as well as free minutes if mentioned in the plans.
Compared to the Prepaid plans, the Postpaid plans are little more expensive as you would have to pay taxes on top of the listed prices. As well as do remember, the prepaid plans come with 28 days validity while you will have to pay at the end of the month or bill cycle.
There’s a catch for Rs 31 per month postpaid plan, where the company would be charging for calls at 2 paise per second for voice and 5 paise per second for video calling. Whereas for roaming the call charges are at 80 paise per minute for local and Rs 1.15 per minute for STD.
Do make a note that company has announced that it’s seven premium apps services such as JioTV, JioCinema, JioMusic, JioMags, JioNewspaper, JioCloud and Jio Security would come free with these postpaid plans. Though, they should be free under Welcome Offer until December 2016 as mentioned by company yesterday.
While if you have bought a LYF handset, then you are set oil December 31st, 2017, which accounts for more than a year’s free subscription of JIO premium apps. According to the company, the one-year subscription for JIO Premium suite of apps is worth Rs 15,000.
Once you exhaust data limit in Postpaid plans, you would be charged Rs 250 per GB with a charging pulse of 10KB. The Rs 31 postpaid plan would see a charge of Rs 5p per 10KB. JIO users who are subscribing to Postpaid plans under Welcome Offer would have to pay a zero value bill online periodically to continue availing the special benefits until December 31st, 2016.
