OPPO R9s Plus with Snapdragon 653 SoC, 6GB RAM, & 16MP Cameras Leaked

OPPO will unveil its two new flagship smartphones OPPO R9s and R9s Plus tomorrow in China. Both these devices will be the successors to the much popular OPPO R9 and R9 Plus. The company launched the OPPO R9 as OPPO F1 Plus in India. From the last few weeks, there are various leaks about these devices, but recently OPPO teased few features of the device, while Antutu has unofficially revealed the most important specifications. Today, the specifications of the OPPO R9s Plus are posted on the Weibo page of Antutu. It comes with the model number R6037, and the company is launching the new ColorOS based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The OPPO A59s that was launched last week came with the ColorOS 3.0 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

It sports a 6-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The device comes powered the newly announced Snapdragon 653 MSM8976Pro octa-core processor clocked at 1.95GHz and coupled with Adreno 510 GPU. There is 6GB of RAM on this device along with 64GB of internal storage. The Vivo XPlay 5 Elite is the first smartphone to feature 6GB of RAM. There are also many other Chinese brands like OnePlus, LeEco, and Xiaomi launched the smartphones equipped with 6GB of RAM. Samsung will be launching its first 6GB RAM smartphone Galaxy C9 Pro soon in China. Coming to the cameras, the OPPO R9s Plus sports a 16MP camera on the front and rear.

On the other hand, the OPPO R9s comes with Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor along with Adreno 506 GPU. It has the same 16MP rear and front cameras as seen R9s Plus. The OPPO R9s comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Both the devices support OPPO patented fast charging technology VOOC flash charge. The devices are also said to feature solid state button design on the front that also houses the fingerprint sensor. The OPPO R9s and R9s Plus comes with an all-metal unibody design with rounded corners.

OPPO has already confirmed to use the Sony’s IMX398 sensor with f/1.7 aperture that can capture images with better clarity even in low-light conditions. Earlier this month, the company launched the OPPO F1s Diwali Limited Edition Smartphone in India. Though this is the same OPPO F1s that was available in the market, it additionally comes with signatures of Sonam Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan along with gilded pattern on the rear. It is priced at Rs. 17,999 and is sold through Snapdeal and OPPO’s retails stores. It comes with a 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection.

The device is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based ColorOS 3.0 but we can expect it to receive the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update soon as the OPPO R9s and R9s Plus will be launched with the latest ColorOS out of the box. The device supports dual SIM and offers 4G LTE connectivity. It has a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture while on the rear is a 13MP sensor with PDAF and f/2.2 aperture. It is backed by a 3075mAh battery with VOOC flash charge support.
