At the start of the day, Nikon has announced a new DSLR, i.e., the D5 that is the successor of the D4. This camera comes with an autofocus system with 153 points and a 20-MP full-frame sensor, 4K Video recorder and touch screen. Later, the brand has come with and interesting announcement, i.e., keyMission 360 Which would be the first 4K action camera launched by the brand It is the first camera with 360° video recording to join the Nikon family

The design of the KeyMission 360 is simple, and the camera is in a small square which a bit bigger than that of the GoPro Hero Session 4, but not as much of a cube. The camera has a lens same as that of a Ricoh camera, i.e., on the front and the back. It is designed in such a way that it is shockproof to 2 meters (about 7 feet), and waterproof resistant upto 30 meters (100 feet) with electronic vibration reduction. Beyond that, Nikon hasn’t shared any more details like pricing, availability, battery life, or the field of view of each lens.

The Action camera technology was lead by the launch of the GoPro, which was built in early 2000’s. The other brands competing the Go Pro are Sony, Garmin and TomTom, but non of these brands directly compete the GoPro.

Though these companies have launched an Action, non of them have a 360-degree video mode option on it. The upcoming future is all about the virtual reality and as of now there are only a few brands that manufacture the same for the consumers, i.e., Richo and 360fly. We are expecting KeyMission 360 to be the most likely device to the users. There is no information about the battery life, storage, and type of the lens used in this device. The pricing and availability of the product is yet to be revealed.

keyMission 360 is showcased in the Consumer Electronic Show and the similar product launched in CES 2016 is the VUZE Portable 360° 3D VR camera. The other products announced and launched in CES include the LG 18′ Foldable Display, Alcatel CareTime SmartWatch, Withings Thermo and Smarttemp.
