Microsoft is in a serious mode of expanding its Lumia line of smartphones, as today company has announced its cheapest Lumia phone, although, it didn’t stop at introducing its first 400 series phone. The Lumia 532 was the second smartphones from company that was launched today. While Lumia 435 is the cheapest smartphone from company, it can be said that the Lumia 532 is the second cheapest in its Lumia line-up.
Update, Feb 16th 2015: The Lumia 532 is launched in India for the price of Rs. 6499, alongside the launch of Lumia 435, which goes on sale for Rs. 5999.
The Lumia 532 is a successor of the popular Lumia 530 model, and it so happens to sport 1GB of RAM of, which is double of its predecessor, as it had 512MB RAM. The device features a 4-inch WVGA display with a 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage. It is powered by a Snapdragon 200 processor. Though, the Lumia 532, albeit the same specs, sport Quad-core, rather than dual-core processor on Lumia 435.
These devices are powered by Snapdragon 200 processor. The Lumia 435 offers a 2 MP snapper on the rear, while the Lumia 532 bumps it up to 5 MP shooter on the rear side, whereas on the front side, it offers a VGA camera.
This Lumia device come with a 3G connection, just like 435, and will come in single as well as dual SIM models too. Starting February this year, company will start to sell the Lumia 532 in the select European countries, Asia-Pacific, India, the Middle East and Africa.
The Lumia 532 will be available in three color options other than Black, which includes Bright green, Bright Orange and Bright White. The pricing for Lumia 435 is around €69, while the Lumia 532 will cost around €79, which roughly translates to $93. Interestingly, it isn’t only Microsoft against Android right now, as the major leader in the Android market, Samsung, has just launched the Tizen running Samsung Z1 today, with a pricing similar to the pricing of Lumia 532.
