Kyocera Launches DuraForce Pro Rugged smartphone with a Super Wide View FHD Action camera

Kyocera mobile has been known for launching rugged & waterproof smartphones at an affordable price in range. Recently, the company had introduced the Kyocera Hydro Shore smartphone with decent specifications with waterproofing and available through AT&T’s GoPhone no-contract service for $80. Now, the company has announced the another waterproof, drop proof and dust proof smartphone, which is named as Kyocera DuraForce Pro and has been listed the official website and is the first smartphone with a built-in Super Wide View FHD Action camera

The Kyocera DuraForce Pro smartphone features a 5.0-inch FHD display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution that offers a 441 PPI of pixel density. The device has shockproof, drop-proof and dustproof with IP68 certification, which gives a protection for the smartphone in water up to 30 minutes in the 2-meters deep and has a Military Standard 810G, which provides against shock, dust and vibration etc.

Under the hood, it comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor that clocks at 1.5 GHz paired with Adreno 405 GPU. This smartphone has a dedicated side button for PUsh-To-Talk (PTT) and also programmed by non-PTT users for one-touch access to a favorite feature or application. There is a 32GB internal storage that can further be expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card slot and has a 2GB of RAM.

The Smartphone has three camera sensors such as 13MP rear and 5MP front cameras and additionally included at the back, it has a 5MP action camera with wider 135-degrees lens that can record videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second while the GoproHero Black camera can record videos in 4K. The new Super Wide View Action Camera offers functionality such as underwater operation mode, sports mode, slow motion, time-lapse and other camera filters/applications.

The device supports connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, Micro USB port, GPS/A-GPS and Miracast. Powering of the entire device is a massive 3,240 mAh capacity battery with Wireless Charging and Quick Charge 2.0 support that can charge your device up to 75 percent faster than other conventional charging methods.

It has a fingerprint security sensor on the phone’s power button for biometric authentication and FIDO certified for simpler, stronger authentication to support modern mPayment / mCommerce protocols. The company is providing the 2-years of manufacturer warranty to the smartphone. As of now, there is no pricing & availability of the smartphone as we will update the article in coming days.
