Huawei, the Chinese electronics equipment giant has launched their new smartwatch. And no it’s not an upgrade of their Stylish Smartwatch, which we reviewed recently. But it is rather a smartwatch dedicated for Children. Apparently, the company has forayed into the wearables for kids, which is a huge market in China. In an ongoing event in the country, the popular brand has unveiled their first Kids Smartwatch. The product is introduced in collaboration with Disney and Marvel, and you can clearly see the watch visuals would sport contents from the Disney and Marvel Character.
The Huawei Children’s smartwatch is themed around certain characters like Mickey, Minie, Frozen Four and Captain America for starters. Talking about the specifications, the wearable is compatible with any Mobile OS platform such as Android and iOS, when you are looking to pair. It sports a 1.3-inch OLED display and has Bluetooth 4.0 support for connectivity with smartwatch. It would allow parents to control the watch and keep track of their Kids.
For tracking, the smartwatch is enabled with GPS, accelerometer, and other basic set of sensors. Company claims that its 300 mAh capacity battery can give you 1.5 days charge time, while the standby time is 4 days. It can be charged from zero to hundred in 2 hours, which is quite the higher time for charging a 300 mAh capacity battery. It has a magnetic charging port, which needs to be connected to dock. Nonetheless, you also get capabilities such as calling, positioning, navigating to parent. The watch is equipped with a SOS key to instantly notify the parent they kid needs help.
The company claims that they have used the soft materials to build the watch, which makes it comfortable to wear and shouldn’t harm soft skin of the child. Apart from displaying clock on the OLED display, child can also see the steps they have walked. Moreover, navigation would be clear as OLED displays are tend to be visible under broad daylight. The smartwatch is IP 55 rated, which means it is dust and waterproof. Weighing just 46 grams, it would be light on the wrist of your children.
This watch would be available for 688 Yuan, which converts to around $100. The company would be selling their new kid’s smartwatch exclusively on Vmall.com, which is an online retail website in China.
