HTC had earlier launched the Desire 820 smartphone in India, with the 4G LTE Cat. 4 connectivity. Now, the company has started selling a variant of it, the Desire 820s through the local stores, and this unit comes with a Mediatek Octa-core chipset. This particular variant was available in China already, and it makes sense to bring it in India, as there is always a demand for Dual SIM devices.
According to the company, it is a Mediatek processor clocking at 1.7 GHz, and the Dual SIM capability doesn’t end the network connectivity to 3G, as there is a support for 4G LTE Cat. 4, with connectivity of up to 150 Mbps. The 4G LTE support is with FDD bands 1/3/7/8, and TDD bands 38/39/40/41.
The other specs are the same, as the HTC Desire 820s has a 5.5-inch 720p display, camera combination of 13-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front-facing cameras, and it runs Android 4.4.2 with HTC Sense UI. While the device comes with 16GB internal storage, there is a MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The phone comes with a 2600 mAh battery, and the BoomSound speakers (the Dual front-facing speakers above and below the display).
The rear 13-megapixel shooter has a f/2.2 aperture and a BSI sensor, while it is the same BSI sensor on the front with a F/2.2 aperture. Both the cameras are capable of recording 1080p videos.
It will be the Tuxedo Grey color available in India, and the device is priced at Rs. 24,890. There is no information about the online availability, but the phone seems to have hit the offline stores already.
