Datawind, the company which makes some of the most affordable tablets is quite known for its products here in India. Today the company has launched a new smartphone and just like their tablet offerings; this smartphone is also quite affordable. And not just that it comes with an exciting offer as well, which is worth taking a note.

This new smartphone is called the PocketSurfer GZ. The smartphone is priced at only Rs. 1,499. Yes, and as mentioned, it comes with one year of free 2G internet browsing with Reliance. Isn’t that interesting? And talking about the specs of the device, it comes with a touchscreen display, a rear camera and runs on Linus Operating system. We don’t have nay other specs other than this at this point. We suggest you not to expect much in the specs department since it is a cost-effective smartphone.

Well, talking about the budget smartphones, this is certainly not the only one that we have seen so far. In fact, the company sells a couple of them which came with free internet. They previously launched the PocketSurfer 3G4Z as well as the 3G4X. These smartphones were also bundled with the free internet. With that being said, the newly launched PocketSurfer is one of the cheapest smartphones from the company. According to various reports, the company remains the market leader in tablets in the country.

But the trend of launching affordable low-end smartphones is not new to us. Previously we saw the Freedom 251. There were numerous reports around this device.
