Coolpad launched a new smartphone today called the Coolpad Mega at an Event here in India. This new coolpad Mega comes with a 5.5-inch HD display coming in at a resolution of 1280 x 720 giving it a pixel density of 267 ppi. The display is covered with 2.5D glass. It is powered by a quad-core processor and packs 3GB of RAM. On software side, it runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and CoolUI on top of it.

Talking about the camera, it features an 8-megapixel camera on both front and the back with features like autofocus etc. The device is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery. As far as pricing is concerned, the device is priced at 6,999 INR and will be available to purchase exclusively from Amazon India starting 24th August in pure gold, grey and champagne white colour options.

This device is very similar to the previously launched Coolpad Sky 3. Coolpad Sky 3 features the same 5.5-inch display covered with the 2.5D glass on top. It is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT67355P quad-core chipset clocked at 1 GHz and coupled with Mali T720 GPU. It packs 2GB of RAM and this is where the new Mega upgrades over it with 3GB of RAM. As far as camera is concerned, it also features the same 8-megapixel front and rear facing cameras with f/2.2 & f/2.0 aperture respectively.

In terms of design also the newly launched Coolpad Mega is similar to the Coolpad Sky 3. But note that the Coolpad sky 3 was priced about 3,999,000 VND (approx Rs. 12,000) and Coolpad mega quite affordable when compared to it. Stay tuned for more info on this.
