The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei launched the P9 smartphone back in the month of April this year. The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup by Leica, and it is basically a camera-centric smartphone. Out of the two sensors, one is the RGB sensor, and the another one is a Monochrome sensor and both of them together caters to some of the best-looking photos taken from a smartphone camera in 2016. The company launched the smartphone in China initially and later it was launched in other markets as well. The Huawei P9 was launched in the month of August in India.

If you want to know more about the smartphone and its performance, you can read the full written review Huawei P9 here. With that being said, now according to the company, it has been reported that they have sold a total of 9,000,000 unit of the Huawei P9 smartphone so far. Do make a note that these are not from any particular market but are global figures. Also, back in the month of September, the company reported the sales of 6 million units, which means they sold over 3 million units in the span of just 2 months, which is totally impressive.

Huawei is also the third largest smartphone manufacturer in the world after Apple and Samsung. The company sold approximately 57.3 million units during the first half of 2016. And now with all these sales numbers, it looks like they are not going to stop anytime soon. Also, now with the launch of the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone, we are expecting the numbers to go even further. Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor is also doing quite good now with the launch of Honor 8. But we have to wait and see how the numbers are looking there.

Talking about the Huawei P9 smartphone, it comes with a 5.2-inch LCD screen which is an FHD display and it is powered by Kirin 955 chipset which is an octa-core 2.5GHz CPU along with the Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. It also comes with 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage. It is kept powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. At the back, there is are dual 12MP sensors with a LED flash and on the front, there is an 8MP front facing shooter. As mentioned earlier, the camera in the P9 is pretty good and works well in most of the conditions.

Well, now with a little less than two months left, it is expected that the sales figures will hit 10 million by the end of this year. And also, don’t forget the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone which they launched last week. Both the Mate 9 and the Mate 9 Porche edition will go on sale very soon in China. Let’s see what the company manages to do here and what numbers do they end up with, by the end of 2016. Stay tuned for more info on this.
