Officially Launched
ZTE Nubia Z9 officially announced, packs 5.2-inch 1080p display and Snapdragon 810 SoC
The much leaked and almost known Nubia Z9 from ZTE, which was supposedly going to be one bezel-less phone, is finally official in China. It is almost what it was expected to be, and with a bezel of just 0.8mm in thickness, it looks bezel-less, and the reflective nature of the bezel gives it an illusion like an edge-to-edge display.
The bezel is more of an interactive system than just a simple bezel around the display. The FIT function for it, allows different user gestures such as taking screenshots, adjusting brightness of the screen, and even activating the camera app.
The Nubia Z9 is equally impressive with the specs, and the top line of specs is included here, as we see the Snapdragon 810 SoC powering the unit, along with RAM based on the variant (Classic model having 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, Elite and Exclusive models having 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage). The device has a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS, and on the front, is an 8-megapixel selfie shooter.
Having the Dolby Audio support, the Nubia Z9 comes packed with a 2900 mAh battery, within the frame that has 8.9 mm thickness. The connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, MHL 3.0 and NFC.
The phone is available for pre-order in China, and all the three models are available – CNY3,499 for Classic Model, CNY3,999 for Elite Model and CNY4,499 for Exclusive Model.
Earlier:
ZTE’s next flagship, i.e. the Nubia Z9 smartphone is said to be coming with power packed specs internally, according to the latest benchmark results leaking some information. The successor to Nubia Z7 isn’t big on numbers with the display, as the resolution is claimed to be 1920×1080 pixels under the 5.2-inch screen.
The internal model number is given as NX510J, and it is said to be running on Qualcomm’s latest chipset, i.e. Snapdragon 810 with Adreno 430 GPU, along with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The score of 46991 doesn’t show this as a hugely powered device, but these are initial tests and not the final product, we feel.
This might be something similar to what LG did with the G Flex 2, reduction in screen size as the Nubia Z7 had a 5.5-inch display, though the reduction in resolution might help save some power in the phone. The camera combination seems to be a 16-megapixel rear and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
It seems to be running Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS, and that is it for the details available via. the benchmark scores. It says “nubia z9 New model exposure”, which is like always for any new models that are tested, thus we are believing in the leaks.
Let’s see what ZTE has in the cards for the flagship launch this year. Btw, the Snapdragon 810 processor will be used by most of the flagships in 2015, except for the Galaxy S6, which is running on Samsung’s homegrown Exynos chipset.
