ZTE is a Chinese multinational company which has started trial testing in India for 5G technology. According to a report for Economic Times report, telecom operator like Vodafone India, Reliance Jio and Bharati Airtel from India have joined hands with ZTE and has been testing on 5G networks. India is planning to bring 5G network in the country by 2020 side it has seen the importance of data and the increase of data consumption in the country.
According to the reports, there is news that the Indian Government will be auctioning off the spectrum to the network carriers which will be happening for the first time and this spectrum will support the future 5G network. ZTE is also in talks with carriers in India for 5G backhaul. It is an infrastructure foundation which is required for 5G wireless communication to take place.
Fan Xiaobing, who is the president of global marketing and solutions for ZTE said to Economics times that, India is an important market to them and telecom industry is all about scale which India offers. Telecom market in India will grow very fast and they are increasing their investment in the country to support the growth. He also addressed that ZTE will be bringing telecom equipment and products for local carriers which are specially customised for the local needs.
ZTE will get an early start in India compared to other telecom equipment competitors like Nokia, Ericsson, and Huawei. ZTE is focused on bringing advanced technologies in India and has recently won a contract from the state-run BSNL for network expansion in the North as well as in the East. It has also inked a pact with BSNL for providing support and 5G gear for future in the country. What do you think about this partnership?
