ZTE Grand X3 & Avid Plus Smartphone with Snapdragon 210 SoC Launched in the U.S

ZTE which had launched some ultra low-cost smartphones in the U.S has contiued the same strategy at the CES 2016. The compnay has unveiled two entry-level smartphones ZTE Grand X3 and ZTE Avid Plus smartphones. While the Grand X3 will be available through Cricket Wireless, and the Avid plus can e purchased on-contract from T-Mobile. The devices will be competating with the recently launched Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 4 series smartphones.

The ZTE Grand X3 sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution and very thin bezels. It is powered by the Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM. On the storage part, it has 16GB internal memory that can be further expandable via a MicroSD card slot up to 64GB.

ZTE Grand X3

It runs on Android 5.1.1 lollipop and is backed by a 3,080mAh battery that can give 13.5 hours of talk time and lasts up to 343 hours standby. The device also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charging support for faster charging speeds. It packs an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front camera.

The device feels bulky in habe by measuting 154.1 x 75.9 x 9.4 mm and weighing 170 grams. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, and Bluetooth 4.1 . The Grand X3 is priced at $130 sports a USB Type-C port which is normally seen on high-edn devices and supports Dolby surround sound technology.

ZTE Avid Plus

Another device in the list is the ZTE Avid Plus that comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. It is also powered by the Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor but is clocked only at 1GHz. The Avid plus is only limited to 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot.

It has only a 5MP rear camera where the 2MP front camera is same as on the Grand X3. The device gets it juice from 2,300mAh battery and runs on the Android  5.1 Lollipop with stock UI. It is priced slightly lower at $115 and will be availale sarting from January 20th. The company also announced the global availability of their premium Nubia branded device through nubia.com website. There is no information about the launch of Nubia and Axon branded devices in India.
