ZTE Axon M Foldable Smartphone with Dual Displays to Launch in China on January 16th

Last year, ZTE came up with an interesting device called Axon M with dual displays. The ZTE Axon M foldable smartphone is separated by an ugly looking hinge. However, we are seeing this kind of form factor for the first time on a commercial device and its successor might come out later this year with some fine refinements. Back in October, it was launched exclusively on AT&T in the U.S for $725. Now, the company has confirmed to launch the same ZTE Axon M smartphone in China on January 16th.

The local pricing and availability of the device will be announced on the launch day. Last week, it got certified by TENAA, the Chinese equivalent to FCC, with similar specifications as on the U.S variant. In terms of OS, the Chinese variant will lack the Google Play Services and might come with a totally different UI. As of now, there is no information about the availability of theAxon M foldable smartphone in other markets.

With the AKM 4962 audio chip and Dolby Atmos support, the Axon M offers Hi-Fi audio output through the dual speakers and headphones.

It is powered by Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.15Ghz and comes coupled with Adreno 510 GPU and 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB of internal storage that can be expandable up to 256GB via a MicroSD card slot. The power button placed on the edge of the device comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor. The Axon M is backed by a 3,180mAh battery that is rated to give up to 28.7 hours of talk time and lasts up to 290 hours of talk time. It also supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.
