Update: Everyone are waiting for the launch of first flagship smartphone from an Indian manufacturer, i.e.; YU Yutopia that is scheduled to launch on December 7th. Today, Rahul Sharma, Founder of YU Televentures had tweeted announcing a 10-day delay for the launch of YU Yutopia that is postponed until December 17th. While there is no reason mentioned behind the delay, interestingly December 18th is the date when the company had announced its first ever smartphone YU Yureka.

Earlier: Dec 1, 2015 – Last month we had exclusively covered a story about the two variants the brand is expected to launch. The brand has officially confirmed & invited us to the Launch event of YU Yutopia, but there’s no other info from them though we are also expecting them to launch the upgraded variant of Yuphoria Smartphone with 3GB RAM. It will officially launch on the December 7th event and we can expect few more devices to launch on the same stage.
The company is teasing the launch of the Yutopia by posting images on its social media accounts. Though the device is expected to be launched in early November, it was postponed due to some issue with the Snapdragon 810 chipset. It will be powered by an underclocked Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor to avoid the overheating issues. As said earlier, Yutopia will be launched in two variants with 3GB and 4GB of RAM capacities.
It features a 5.2-inch display with Quad HD resolution display and comes with 32GB and 64GB storage option. As see earlier, it might come with Cyanogen 12 OS with Android 5.1 Lollipop that can be upgradeable to Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Cyanogen 13 OS. The company might also provide an option to get stock Android OS instead of the Cyanogen.
Talking about the pricing, the 3GB variant will be priced around Rs. 20,000 and 4GB variant at Rs. 24,000 price range. Since these are not the official pricing, we can expect some ups and downs in final pricing. According to the teaser images, the device might sport metallic body and the battery will come quick charging support. Stay tuned for more updates!
