One day after launching the an entry-level smartphone in the market, XOLO today came up with another entry-level smartphone. While the XOLO One HD that was launched yesterday is priced under Rs. 5,000, the latest device XOLO 8X-1000i is priced at Rs. 6,999. It is the successor for XOLO 8X-1000, the first ever XOLO device to run on Hive UI.
The XOLO 8X-1000i comes with a glossy unibody design with a metallic frame around the device. The Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and back makes the device stronger and safe against the scratches. It comes with a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display and is powered by MediaTek MT6592M quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz coupled with Mali 450 GPU and 2GB of RAM.
It has 16GB of internal storage along with a MicroSD card slot for further expanding up to 32GB. It has a non-removable battery of 1,920mAh capacity that gives 11 hours of talk time and lasts up to 352 hours on standby. On the camera part, it has an 8MP rear camera with Exmor R sensor and a 2MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The device runs on heavily customized Hive UI based on the outdated Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. It comes with several options like custom themes, icons, and other exclusive apps. The XOLO 8X-1000i comes with dual SIM dual standby but lacks the 4G LTE option. Connectivity options on this device include 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, and MicroUSB port.
Compared to the recently launched One HD, this device comes with better specifications and camera but both the devices lacks 4G LTE connectivity. While the One HD is made exclusively available through Amazon, now the company has partnered with Snapdeal to sell the XOLO 8X-1000i smartphone that will be available in Black color.
