Xiaomi fitness products come from one of its subsidiary called Huami. Though the Mi Band and Mi Band 2 came with Xiaomi branding, they are actually manufactured by Huami. Apart from Mi Bands, the company also launches premium fitness bands and other fitness related products under the brand name of Amazfit. Unlike the Xiaomi products, Amazfit products are sold in quite a few Western markets including the U.S. Last year, we have covered about the Amazfit smartwatch that came with a ceramic dial. Today, Huami unveiled its latest fitness product called Amazfit Health Band in China. While the Mi Band are known for its cheap price tag, the Amazfit Health Band costs 699 Yuan (approx $100 / Rs. 6,500) in China.

Though it is priced on par with the basic Fitbit products like the Fitbit Alta, the Amazfit Health Band offers many more functions than the Fitbit band available at the similar price range. The Amazfit Health Band will be available in Deep Black, Sapphire Blue, and Rose Gold color options. It is IP67 certified which means it water and dust resistant. It comes with a skin friendly wristband measuring 19mm width and the body weighs just 10 grams. The Aluminum body with stainless steel shell also sports a 0.42-inch OLED display. There is 95mAh battery that takes 2.5 hours to charge and gives 7 days of battery life. It comes with a custom magnetic cradle with USB cable for charging.

The Amazfit Health Band uses the Bluetooth 4.0 LE for connecting with the smartphone to sync data or to show notifications. Talking about the features, it comes with built-in ECG (electrocardiogram) chip that can detect the ECG anytime and anywhere. The data will be shown on the smartphone display once it synced and then we share the same with the doctors. It can also detect the heart rate variability (HRV) and notifies the user in real time. The Amazfit Health Band also packs the triaxial acceleration sensor and the PPG photoelectric sensor for continuous monitoring of heart rate and sleep. The sale of the Amazfit Fitness Band goes on sale exclusively in China from April 26th.
