Xiaomi Teases New Meitu Smartphone with Triple Flip Cameras

Last year, Xiaomi partnered with other Chinese company called Meitu to launch Meitu branded smartphones and use its camera patents. Even the marketing, distribution, and after-sales support will be taken care of by Xiaomi. Recently, we have seen leaks about the Mi CC9e which is expected to the first Meitu smartphone manufactured by Xiaomi. Now, the company has posted a new teaser image on Weibo revealing the first look of the device. Apart from the above-featured image, the company hasn’t revealed any other details about this upcoming smartphone.
The device comes with a curved glossy finish body and sports flip camera. While the ASUS Zenfone 6 (a.k.a ASUS 6Z) came with the flip camera featuring two sensors, the Xiaomi made Meitu smartphone comes with the similar flip camera but sports triple rear cameras. While the front view of the device is not shown in the image, the flip camera confirms the device to sport notch-less display on the front. The lacks of rear-facing fingerprint scanner also hint the upcoming Meitu smartphone to sport in-display fingerprint scanner. Earlier this week, the company also opened the Xiaomi Meitu account on WeChat.
Talking about the leaked details, the Xiaomi-made Meitu smartphone will be coming with 48MP triple camera setup on the rear and might come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 series Mobile Platform. It will be backed by a 4,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging technology. The base variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage is rumored to be costing around CNY 3000. While the earlier Meitu smartphones came with its own custom UI, the feature smartphones might run on MIUI. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details about this upcoming smartphone.
