Xiaomi recently confirmed that Redmi will be operated as a separate brand from now on. Today, Redmi has officially made its debut in China by launching the all-new Redmi Note 7 smartphone. The new Redmi Note 7 is the successor to the popular Redmi Note 6 (a.k.a Redmi Note 6 Pro). Xiaomi also appointed William Lu, who earlier served as President & CEO of cash-strapped Gionee, as the vice president of Xiaomi Group and the general manager of Redmi in China.

In terms of build quality, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a glass sandwich design sporting 2.5D curved glass on either side of the metal frame. It will be available in Blue, Gold, and Twilight Black color options. Talking the specifications, the device comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) display with waterdrop notch and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is the 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor coupled with Kryo 260 CPU and Adreno 512 GPU.

Coming to the cameras, the Redmi Note 7 sports 48MP + 5MP dual cameras on the rear with f/1.8 aperture and a 13MP single camera on the front for selfies. The camera app on this device comes loaded with AI features like auto scene detection, AI portrait mode, and AI beauty mode. On the rear, we can also spot the circular fingerprint sensor.

It is backed by a 4000mAh non-removable battery and with the QuickCharge 4.0 support, the device can be fully charged in 1 hour 40 minutes. In terms of connectivity, the Redmi Note 7 offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, IR Blaster, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port.
