Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro starts receiving Android 9 Pie MIUI Beta Update

Redmi Note 5 Pro that was launched last year with Android 7.1 Nougat OS was updated to Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.5 on top last year itself. Now Xiaomi has started rolling out the MIUI 10 Global Beta 9.3.25 update to the device that brings Android 9. 0 Pie along with the security patch for the month of April. The update brings the Game Turbo to the device along with the toggle under display setting for the system.

Furthermore, the update brings dark mode while even the settings page gets it. This MIUI Global Nightly Beta update is currently available only for closed beta testers and the Android Pie based MIUI Global Beta ROM should be released for everyone in the coming weeks depending on the region and model of the device. The MIUI 10 was rolled out last year and it has got to the beta testers last month.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro was the first device to be powered with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC and was also the companies first dual-camera phone. It comes with 5.99-inch Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, it is available in 4 GB as well as 6 GB RAM options and come in Black, Blue, Rose Gold, and Gold color options. It has a 12MP main rear-facing camera sensor while it is accompanied with a 5MP secondary camera. For selfies, there is a 20MP camera sensor on the front.

There is a 4000mAh battery on the back with MicroUSB 2.0 port with 10W fast charging support and comes in 32GB as well as 64GB storage options. The Android 9.0 Pie based MIUI Global Beta was rolled out to Redmi Note 6 Pro and Red 6 Pro earlier this month that bough Dual VoLTE features for the Redmi 6 Pro.
