Xiaomi, the Chinese upstart has recently launched one of the best mid-range smartphone ‘Mi4c’ in China, it is the next best mid-range smartphone to the 2014 launched Mi3. Comparing the value to the money ratio, the Mi3 was the best smartphone that was available at that time. Priced at Rs.13,999; it came packed with a 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 processor, 13MP rear camera which no other manufacturer has ever offered till that time. But its successor Mi4 hasn’t got that much attention and now the Mi4c is the device that brought Snapdragon 808 processor that was used in the LG‘s flagship G4 smartphone.

The Mi4i came up with a few innovative features like Sunlight Display which automatically adapts the display brightness for visibility under sunlight. It also got the Visual IVR feature that simplifies the usage of IVR menu. The recently launched OnePlus is the first internationally available smartphone to sport the USB Type-C port. With the launch of Mi4c, Xiaomi introduced the ‘Edge Tap’ function which makes the edge of the screen work like shutter button while capturing images. The Mi4c is also the first Xiaomi smartphone to include USB Type-C Port.
With Rs.25,000 price tag of OnePlus 2, no doubt it will stay ahead when compared with the other two devices. The Mi4c seems to be the best option which costs almost Rs.10,000 lesser than OnePlus 2 but offers Snapdragon 808 which is no less when compared to Snapdragon 810. The Mi4i that comes powered by Snapdragon 615 and 2GB of RAM is the left behind in this section. While the OnePlus 2 has 4GB and 3GB RAM variants, the Mi4c has 3GB and 2GB RAM variants.
On specs sheet, all three smartphones come with 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and a 5MP front camera. Coming to the actual performance, the OnePlus 2 comes with a much better camera with OIS and 4K recording support which we cannot expect on the mid-range device like Mi4i and Mi4c. Talking about the selfies, the Xiaomi devices are on par with the OnePlus 2 camera samples.
The Xiaomi Mi4i was launched with much fan base in India and with the specifications it offered, the device is considered as one of the best smartphones under Rs.15,000 price range. OnePlus got everything right with the specifications offered on the OnePlus 2 and with a price tag of Rs.25,000, the device is one most affordable device that can compete against the likes of the other flagship devices. The recently launched Mi4c is priced at RMB 1,299 ($204) which converts approximately to Rs.13,500 is the cheapest smartphone to feature Snapdragon 808 processor. When looked at value for the price, the Mi4c is the ultimate go to device.
If you are from India, the Mi4i is available via all major online stores without any flash sales. The OnePlus 2 can be brought from anywhere from in the world, but first you need to get the invite to purchase the device. The company has also apologized for the delay in shipping the devices. In China, Xiaomi has made the device available through both online and offline stores. For the user in India and China, the Xiaomi devices are the best options to purchase. For the international markets, the OnePlus 2 is the only device which is officially available. Though the Xiaomi devices are available through 3rd party resellers, we don’t recommend them because they might come with pre-installed malware.
