Officially Launched
Xiaomi Mi4 16GB available for Rs. 19999, 64GB variant coming on 24th Feb for Rs. 23999

Xiaomi has finally launched its much awaited flagship Xiaomi Mi4 smartphone in India, for the price of Rs. 19,999. This, just like all the other Xiaomi devices, will be available exclusively on Flipkart. The smartphone has been much popular, though it doesn’t come as a huge upgrade from the Mi3, with just the expected changes to the hardware.
The Xiaomi Mi4 comes with a 5-inch 1080p display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor (2.5GHz quad-core) and 13-megapixel rear camera along with a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. There’s 3GB RAM included, and the device has no option to expand the storage. Just a little upgrade in the battery department as well, with the Mi4 having a 3080 mAh battery. Company claims that the touchscreen on Mi4 can be used even with wet fingers and gloves on.
The Global VP of Xiaomi, Hugo Barra says that, MIUI 6 their latest Android-based user interface will come on Mi4. MIUI 6 notifications are divided into important and unimportant. Messaging apps, social media will get priority over say game alerts. The bummer is that Mi4 doesn’t come with LTE, as wellas only 16GB variant with white color will be available in India. Looks like there won’t be an LTE support and 64GB variant for Mi4 in the country coming soon. And considering that there is no MicroSD card on it, the 16GB for the pricing seems like bad option.
Mi 4 will be on sale on February 10, and pre-registrations for the device will start at 6pm on January 28 through its e-commerce partner, Flipkart. To make things much more interesting to MIUI fans, Xiaomi has also bought themes like Rajinikanth, bunny love, etc.
Talking about future plans, Xiaomi India aims to increase the number of exclusive service centres from 5 to 100 by 2015. Company also revealed that they have sold over 1 million phones in India in just about five months. The MiUi 6 roadmap for other Xiaomi devices has been revelaed. The update for Mi 3 and Redmi Note 4G will be coming in February, while the Redmi 1s and Redmi Note 3G will get the update in March.
Update, Feb 9th: The Xiaomi Mi4 64GB will be available from Feb 24th, for a price of Rs. 23999. It was just announced on Twitter by @MiIndiaOfficial account, while the 16GB goes on sale tomorrow, i.e. on 10th February, on Flipkart.
