Xiaomi has already confirmed to skip the Mi 7 to directly launch the Mi 8 as its 2018 flagship smartphone. The latest leaks also reveal the company to skip the Mi Note 4 and launch the Mi Note 5 as the successor to last year’s Mi Note 3. As of now, we are yet to get the first look at the device. On the other hand, the Mi 8 is said to sport notch on the top featuring Face ID-like technology.
The leaked specifications suggest the Mi Note 5 to come with a 5.99-inch 18:9 display. Under the hood is the 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor. Based on the leaks, the rear camera on this device is also said to feature 4-axis OIS. On the connectivity front, the Mi Note 5 is mentioned to support Global LTE with 43 LTE bands.
These are the same specifications Xiaomi mentioned while launching the Mi MIX 2 bezel-less smartphone in 2017. So take these details with a pinch of salt and wait for official confirmation. Xiaomi will be launching the Mi 8 in China on May 31st. On the same day, the company will also launch the all-new MIUI 10 with a slew of new features. If the rumors are to be believed, the company might also unveil the Mi Band 3 fitness tracker.
The Mi Note 3 was launched alongside the Mi MIX 2 in September 2017. It looks similar to the Mi 6 but comes with a slightly larger screen size. The Mi Note 3 is powered by Snapdragon 660 processor and comes coupled with Adreno 512 GPU and 6GB of RAM. It offered 12MP + 12MP dual camera setup on the rear with 4-axis OIS and 2x optical zoom.
For selfies, the Mi Note 3 featured a 16MP camera on the front. The device came with a 3D curved glass body and included an under-glass fingerprint sensor. The recently launched Honor 10 also came with the similar fingerprint sensor placement. The official launch event is just a few days away. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
