On October 25th, Xiaomi has launched the flagship smartphone Mi Note 2 in China as the successor to last years Mi Note and Mi Note Pro. Along with it, the company also unveiled the concept phone Mi MIX which recently went on sale exclusively in China. While the last year’s Mi Note and Mi Note Pro are first devices to feature a curved glass on the back, the Mi Note 2 sports the same curved glass on the front and back of the device. Today, a new device with the model number 2015213 is listed on TENAA with the similar specifications as the Mi Note 2. On the design front, this new device features flat glass on the front and rear instead of the curved glass.

It features a 5.7-inch OLED display with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood is the same 64-bit Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.35GHz and coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. While the curved display variant of the Mi Note 2 came with 4GB and 6GB RAM options, the new device is listed only with 6GB RAM. There will be 128GB of internal storage and there is no MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. The home button on the front also doubles up as a fingerprint. As it comes enabled with NFC, the device also joins the list of the Xiaomi devices supporting Mi Pay mobile payment system.

Talking about the cameras, there is a 23MP Sony IMX318 sensor on the rear with PDAF and dual tone LED flash. On the front is an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture for capturing selfies and making video calls. It will be supporting dual SIM dual standby and offers 4G LTE and VoLTE for making HD voice calls. The device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based MIUI 8 out of the box. The latest Android 7.0 Nougat cannot be expected anytime soon as the MIUI 8 based on Marshmallow was released only a few months back. The same 4,070mAh which can be found on Mi Note 2 also powers this device. It also supports fast charging using the Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

The listing also mentioned the device to be available in Black, Silver, Blue, Pink, and Gold color options. It measures 156.2 x 77.3 x 7.6 mm and weighs 166 grams, similar to Mi Note 2 with a curved glass body. This new variant can be priced slightly lower when compared to the 6GB RAM variant of the Mi Note 2 with curved glass that costs 3299 Yuan to 3499 Yuan. We expect the device to be made official in the next few days so that the device will be on sale during the singles day, i.e.; November 11th. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for the official pricing and availability of the device.
