Xiaomi Mi MIX Nano Smartphone Leaked with 5.5″ Display & 4GB RAM

Last month, Xiaomi has launched the Mi Note 2 and Mi MIX smartphones in Beijing, China. While the Mi Note 2 came with some powerful hardware, Mi MIX which was introduced as a concept device stole the show. Starting from the edgeless display to the ceramic body, everything mixed up pretty good, but the 6.4-inch wider screen size made the device unable to handle with a single hand. It is also one of the most slippery devices with its complete ceramic body including the frame and physical hardware buttons.
Recently, we have seen the concept images of the Mi MIX 2 with 99% screen-to-body ratio, the new leak suggests the company to actually launch a new smartphone called Mi MIX Nano. We expect the device to come with similar design bit with a smaller display. It sports a 5.5-inch display and might come with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution. Under the hood, the device uses the Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. While the bigger Mi MIX with 6GB RAM came in 128GB and 256GB storage options, the Mi MIX Nano has only 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
Take this with a pinch of salt as there is no confirmation from the company yet. The original Mi MIX came with 6.4-inch Quad HD display with unusual 17:9 aspect ratio and 91.3% screen-to-body ratio. With the almost bezel-less display on the three edges, the device skipped the proximity sensor and physical earpiece on the top. Instead, Xiaomi Mi MIX features piezoelectric acoustic ceramic earpiece speaker and ultrasonic proximity sensor. As we already tested the device, the Mi MIX disappoints in the camera department with its 16MP rear camera with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture.
On the front is a 5MP fixed focus camera for capturing selfies. It is backed by a 4,400mAh non-removable battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. Even though it is one of the best looking Xiaomi devices till date, its availability is only limited to China. Even there, the company has already announced that not more than 10,000 units will be on sale per month. In case, the Mi MIX Nano is made available without any restrictions, then we might not see the ceramic body as it hard to produce on large scale.
The 256GB storage variant of the Mi MIX sports 18k gold rings around the rear camera and the fingerprint sensor. Unlike other smartphone manufacturers, Xiaomi hasn’t yet removed the 3.5mm audio port. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Chinese MIUI 8 laid on top. As it is sold only in China, the Mi MIX also missed the Google apps.
