Xiaomi Mi 6X (Mi A2) with 20MP Front & Rear Cameras Launched in China

Last year, Xiaomi surprised everyone by launching the Mi A1 Android One smartphone. With the aggressive price tag and bloatware-free stock Android UI, the device was well received in the market. With the market shifting towards 18:9 display technology, the users are now more interested in the new Redmi 5 Note Pro with 18:9 display than the Mi A1 with old-fashioned 16:9 display. In the coming months, the company will be launching the Mi 6X as the successor to Mi 5X. The same device is expected to launch outside of China as the Mi A2.

A new Xiaomi device with the model number M1804D2SC is now listed on TENAA. It is expected to be soon launched in China as Mi 6X, the successor to last year’s Mi 5X. The Mi 5X is the same Mi A1 that was launched in the international markets. Now, the upcoming Mi 6X might launch in the international markets as Mi A2. Just like the Mi A1, we also expect the Mi A2 to be launched as Android One device. Talking about the device, the design looks almost similar to the Redmi Note 5 Pro.
However, the Mi A2 (a.k.a Mi 6X) comes with the metal unibody design with curved Antenna bands spread across the top and bottom edges. Unlike the other Chinese smartphone manufacturers, Xiami is not opting for the 19:9 display with a notch on the top. While the Redmi Note 5 Pro came with a 4,000mAh battery, the Mi A2 will packs a smaller 2,910mAh battery. It will support dual SIM dual standby and includes all the basic connectivity options. Unlike the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Mi A2 will be coming with a USB type-C port.
While the Redmi 5 Pro measures 8.05mm thick, the Mi A2 is considerably thinner by measuring just 7.3mm thick. As of now, there is no information about the launch date of the Mi A2 (or Mi 6X) smartphone. Xiaomi will be unveiling the Mi MIX 2S bezel-less smartphone in China on March 27th. We might hear some news about their upcoming smartphones on the Mi MIX 2S launch day.
