Xiaomi Mi 5 & Mi 5 Plus Listed Online Ahead of Official Launch Today
Whenever the launch date nears of a much-anticipated smartphone, most of the information leaks out just before a couple of hours of launch. And that’s what happened to the Xiaomi’s latest flagship Mi 5, which is scheduled to go on launch at MWC and Beijing Simultaneously today afternoon (according to IST), has been listed online on a retailer named as XiaomiDevice.
The picture listed on the retailer’s website falls in line with the earlier leak and showcases not one, but two devices; Mi 5 and Mi 5 Plus. Full specs were leaked earlier as well, but this just gets more confirmation to what we already knew. For the record, the Mi 5 is going to sport a 5.2-inch 2K Display and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, which their most powerful processor yet.
The latest flagship from the Chinese Internet startup is going to have a 4GB of RAM and internal storage option of 16GB and 64GB. The camera package on this thing would be of 16-megapixel on the rear and 8-megapixel on the front. The display will be protected by a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 4, which the most powerful glass protection available in the market right now. On the other hand, the only difference between these two handsets would be regarding the display size, the M5 Plus is probably going to sport a 5.7-inch real estate.
There are other handsets that are announced with Snapdragon 820 SoC, like Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, LG G5, Sony Xperia X Performance and Le Max Pro. So, looks-like Mi 5 won’t be the first to introduce SD 820 processor on their handset at all. But if the company is going to start sale before all of these handsets, then technically it would still be the first device available for purchase with the most powerful processor.
I Guess, we will found out that in a couple of hours as all speculation will be over at launch event. Stay tuned in for more updates on this handset as we cover the event live. You can check out or Twitter handle for live updates.
