Xiaomi is known for making versatile products across all the platforms. The company has a wide variety of smart home appliances as well like the Xiaomi Mi Robot vacuum cleaner and Mi Air Purifier, etc. While most products don’t make it to India, the company does launch a variety of different products in China, and now yet again the company has launched a couple of interesting products. They launched a new Mi Walkie-Talkie and a pair of smart shoes called 90 Minutes Ultra Smart Sportswear.
The Mi Walkie-Talkie is rather an interesting product as it is completely different from the company. It comes with the support for both Ultra High Frequency (UHF) and Very High Frequency (VHF) bands, which is not often found on many walkie-talkies. It features an LCD panel on the front which has a 160 x 600 resolution and is black & white. It also has support for location sharing, FM radio and there is a USB port as well for charging and connectivity.
Being a Walkie-talkie, it allows users to send voice messages by creating network frequencies, and it works just like any other walkie talkie. There is also a 2,600 mAh battery inside which should be good to be used for a long time and the company claims that it has a standby time of about eight days. And talking about the pricing, this product is priced at CNY 249 which roughly translates to about 2,400 INR and is currently under crowdfunding in China.
90 Minutes Ultra Smart Sportswear
If you are wondering what’s with a goofy sub-heading, well it is, in fact, the name of the product. These are Xiaomi’s new smart shoes and the company has created this in partnership with Intel who is the supplier of the brain which makes these shoes smart. When we say smart shoes, don’t expect them to be something similar to the new Nike’s Hyperadapt and will have auto-lacing functionality. These shoes can’t do any of that but what it can do is track your activities. It can track how much you have been walking or running through the day and at the end of the day, a detailed report will be produced on distance traveled, calories burned, etc.
Talking about the shoes, they appear to be quite comfortable as they have air cushions, anti-skid features, etc. These pair of smart shoes are priced at CNY 300 and will be available in four different color options. Just like the Mi Walkie-Talkie, this is also currently in crowdfunding stage and you can pre-order it and expect them to ship sometime in April.
