Xiaomi has confirmed to launch a new product at an event scheduled for September 27th. The company released the teasers with a large ‘S’ indicating a new successor to Mi 5 which rumors suggest to be the Mi 5S. Today, the company also posted a new teaser revealing the benchmark scores of 164,119 which is slightly better than the leaked score of 164,002. Just yesterday, LeEco launched its latest flagship smartphone Le Pro 3 as the successor to Le Max 2. It is powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC and scored 163,544 on Antutu, according to LeEco.

More than the slight difference in the benchmark scores, the pricing will be the key factor. The 4GB RAM variant of Le Pro 3 costs 1799 Yuan while the 6GB RAM variant costs 1999 Yuan. In the official teasers, the company mentioned Xiaomi _S; so it might not be the Mi 5S which we all are expecting. Instead, the company might launch the Mi Max S or Mi Note S. The Mi Max was launched in China and India in the first half of 2016, it came with a 6.44-inch display and an all metal body. More than the Mi Max S, there are high chances of seeing the Mi Note S since the company hasn’t updated the Mi Note lineup after launching the Mi Note and Mi Note Pro smartphones in January 2015.

There also rumors about the Mi Note 2 launch alongside the Mi 5S. The recent leaks also hinted the device to be powered by Snapdragon 821 SoC, the mentioned 164,119 benchmark score might be of the Mi Note S. We can only know the official details on September 27th, when the company unveils its latest flagship device in China.

Update: September 23rd, 2016 – Today, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun officially confirmed that company will be launching Xiaomi Mi 5S on Sep 27th. He also posted the first ever camera sample from the new smartphone.
