Recently, there are quite a few leaks about the upcoming Black Shark smartphone from Xiaomi. Even the company has posted a teaser image of the device on its official Weibo handle. As of now, it is officially confirmed to come with a new Liquid Cool 3.0 technology. Now, the latest post from the company confirmed the launch date of the Black Shark 2 smartphone as March 18th. The launch event will be held in Beijing, China and might make global debut at a later date.
While the company hasn’t mentioned any other details, the Antutu listing revealed some key details. The device is mentioned to have scored 3,59,973 on Antutu benchmarking app. The listing also confirmed the Black Shark 2 is the same Black Shark Skywalker which was leaked earlier this year. While there is no information about the screen size, the device will be offering Full HD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels) resolution.
With this resolution, we can at least confirm that the company is moving out from the 18:9 aspect ratio. FYI, the new Razer Phone 2 still comes with 16:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the Black Shark 2 will come powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform coupled with Kryo 485 CPU and Adreno 640 GPU. While the listing mentioned the device to feature 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, we can expect the company to launch the device in a few more storage options.
Based on the previous leaks, we might even see a 12GB RAM variant of the Black Shark 2. Finally, the device will be running on the latest Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with its custom Joy UI laid on top. The company is currently selling the Black Shark Helo smartphone in China and European countries. It sports a 6.01-inch AMOLED display and is powered by 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset.
