Earlier this week, Xiaomi teased its new smartphone which will be launched in partnership with Meitu. The company partnered with Meitu to launch Meitu branded smartphones and use its camera patents. Even the marketing, distribution, and after-sales support will be taken care of by Xiaomi. Today, the company in partnership with Meitu officially announced the new CC series to launch the selfie-centric smartphones in the high-end segment.
Globally, Xiaomi is selling the budget selfie-centric smartphones under the Redmi Y series. As per the leaks, the Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e will become the first ever smartphones to launch under this new series. Unlike the Redmi Y smartphones, the Mi CC9 smartphones will come packed with high-end hardware and uses Meitu apps and selfie-focused features. The earlier posted teaser image confirmed the Mi CC9 smartphones to come with ASUS 6Z (a.k.a ASUS Zenfone 6) like flip camera.
Unlike the Zenfone 6, the Mi CC9 sports triple camera setup. The device also comes with a gradient finish curved glass body. Based on the leaks, the device will be coming with a 6.39-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with no notch or bezels. Under the hood, the device will mostly come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 Mobile Platform. The main camera on this device will feature the Sony IMX586 sensor. The other two sensors could be the telephoto and wide-angle sensors.
There will also be an in-display fingerprint scanner on the front. It packs 4,000mAh battery and might offer at least 18W fast charging support. Since there is no official confirmation over the specifications of the device, take these details with a punch of salt and wait for the official confirmation.
