Wileyfox is a UK-based smartphone maker that has announced Wileyfox Swift 2X which is the successor of Swift 2 that was launched last year. Many of you might have never heard this name since there aren’t many devices from them and has not got much reputation. Few devices that it launched are Wileyfox Swift 2 Plus, Wileyfox Spark X, Wileyfox Selfy, Wileyfox Surf and few more. This new device is priced at 219.99 GBP (approx US$ 268), but its availability is now limited to the UK.
Coming to the specifications, the handset comes with a 5.2-inch FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection to protect it from minor falls and scratches. Under the hood, there is an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 64-bit processor ( 4 x 1.2 GHz Cortex A53 + 4 x 1.5 GHz Cortex A53) coupled with 3GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU.
Out of the box, the device runs on Cyanogen OS v13.1 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The onboard memory is 32GB that can be further extended up to 64GB via microSD card. This dual SIM device supports one micro SIM card along with a secondary hybrid slot that supports nano-SIM. There is a fingerprint sensor on the device to enhance the security levels and provide protection.
The Wileyfox Swift 2X will come with 16MP rear camera with Dual LED Flash and Samsung 3L8 ISOCELL sensor with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and capable of 1080p video recording. It is accompanied with an 8MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfies. The handset measures 144 mm × 72.2 mm × 8.8 mm and weighs 155 grams in weight.
The connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS and USB Type-C. To power the device there is a 3010mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. The handset will compete against devices like Lenovo K5 Note, Oppo F1S, Xiaomi Mi Max, OnePlus 3, Moto G4 Plus which are in similar price range.
